GRANFONDO PARTICIPATION REGULATIONS SAN BENEDETTO DEL TRONTO

The “ASD Bicigustando” organizes for the10May 2026, an amateur Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo cycling race called “Gran Fondo San Benedetto del Tronto", with start and finish in San Benedetto del Tronto (AP).
The event is valid for the 2026 National Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo Championships, Marche and Alè Adriatico Cross-Country Skiing Circuit.

COMPLIANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS

The athlete must know and fully comply with these regulations. By signing the online registration form for the Gran Fondo San Benedetto Del Tronto, the athlete accepts the following regulations.

No sporting misconduct or actions deemed unfair or disrespectful are permitted. towards other athletes, organizers, jury, race management and refreshment staff and to the correct circulation of traffic during the event or for various reasons, may also be sanctioned with disqualification from the race classification and compromise participation for subsequent years.
The Granfondo San Benedetto del Tronto is committed to environmental issues. We too want to contribute to safeguarding the balance of the natural environment, leading to reflection on what we can do individually and collectively to protect our planet! Green Bikes will be on duty along the two routes, observing participants' behavior and intervening if they behave inappropriately. They will report with video and photos anyone littering in the various prohibited areas. Such official reports will result in immediate and unquestionable disqualification for the current edition and the following year.
  • MEETING AND DEPARTURE

    Meeting and opening of the grids at 7.00 am. Departure of the long and short routes at 8.00 am from Viale Buozzi.

  • MEMBERSHIP CARD CHECK AND RACE PACK COLLECTION

    Each participant must arrive on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM at the Geko Club Village in San Benedetto del Tronto to have their membership cards checked and to collect their race number and race pack. A valid membership card must be presented when collecting the race pack. In the event of any accident involving members of other organizations or the FCI, if the expiry date of the medical examination is not highlighted on the card, liability rests with them and their organization. Therefore, the organizing company and those responsible for carrying out checks cannot be held liable. In any case, our organization cannot be held responsible for any physical or material damage. Participants without a race number and/or using another person's race number are not covered by insurance and may be subject to legal action in the event of an accident. BIB COLLECTION on behalf of another registered participant or for members of a single club can only take place by completing and submitting the appropriate form, which can be downloaded from the website www.granfondosanbenedettodeltronto.it, together with an identification document.

  • REGISTRATION ON SITE

    On Saturday 9 May 2026, at the Geko Village, Via dei Tigli, 1 San Benedetto del Tronto, it will be possible to register, obtain a valid competitive membership card for the year 2026, a competitive medical certificate issued by the sports doctor for the cycling discipline and a signed privacy authorization form (downloadable here).

  • PATHS AND GRIDS

  • The Gran Fondo San Benedetto del Tronto will take place on two routes:
  • LONG ROUTE, marked by RED arrows, 123 km long with an elevation gain of 1,865 m (subject to change)
  • SHORT ROUTE, marked by BLUE arrows, 86 km long with an elevation gain of 1,000 m (subject to change) which will start at 8:00 am (subject to change) LONG ROUTE: San Benedetto del Tronto, Grottammare, Cupra Marittima, Massignano, Monte Fiore, Rubbianello, Carassai, Ortezzano, Monte Rinaldo, Montelparo S. Vittoria, Force, Monte di Nove, Montalto Marche, Offida, Ripatransone, Acquaviva Picena, San Benedetto Del Tronto. SHORT ROUTE: San Benedetto del Tronto, Grottammare, Cupra Marittima, Massignano, Monte Fiore, Rubbianello, Carassai, Ortezzano, Monte di Nove, Montalto Marche, Offida, Ripatransone, Acquaviva Picena, San Benedetto Del Tronto. Refreshments will be provided by the organization staff as follows: For the long route, 3 refreshments (Monterinaldo – Montedinove – San Benedetto del Tronto) For the short route, 2 refreshments (Montedinove – San Benedetto Del Tronto) Although this is a race with rankings and points, it is an amateur event and takes place on roads open to traffic. Therefore, participants must keep to the right and obey the highway code. For any matters not covered by this regulation, the ACSI regulations apply. GRIDS: Race officials will have the duty to disqualify or exclude from the event, at their sole discretion, anyone who does not respect their starting grid. GOLD Grid 1/50: Winners of the medium and long courses from the previous year, men and women, guests, and those who booked online with a price increase. Women's Grid: All registered participants with any number. 1st RED Grid 51/350: From 1st to 50th place among those registered for the Gran Fondo Marche and ALE ADRIATICO circuits according to last year's long course rankings, 100 registered for the Gran Fondo Marche and ALE ADRIATICO circuits according to last year's medium course rankings, 50 registered for the GFSBT according to last year's long course rankings, 100 registered for the GFSBT according to last year's short course rankings of the ACSI Gran Fondo championship, Disabled participants. Fifty places reserved for the organization. 2nd GREEN Grid 351/700: From 50th to 100th place registered in the Gran Fondo Marche and ALE ADRIATICO circuits according to last year's ranking of the long route, from 100th to 200th place registered in the Gran Fondo Marche and ALE ADRIATICO circuits according to last year's ranking of the medium route, 50 registered in the GFSBT according to last year's ranking of the long route, 100 registered in the GFSBT according to last year's ranking of the short route. 3rd BLUE Grid 701/1100. 4th Electric Grid: will be reserved exclusively for electric bikes; such participants will be excluded from the general and category rankings.
  • RULES

    For anything not covered in these regulations, the general rules of the ACSI National Amateur Organization and UCI regulations apply. ASD BICIGUSTANDO declines all responsibility, for itself or its collaborators, for accidents or damage to persons or property that may occur before, during, or after the event, or as a result thereof. It reserves the right to exclude athletes who exhibit inappropriate behavior before, during, or after the event. Please note that for the proper and safe conduct of the competition, the details of vehicles illegally following competitors and driving in the area closed to normal traffic, or between the start and finish of the race, will be recorded by the organization's inspectors and submitted to the jury and the competent police force for possible action, both sporting and traffic violations.

  • COMPLAINTS

    Any complaints must be submitted to the jury within the prescribed timeframe, accompanied by the fee required under the ACSI cycling regulations.

  • CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT

    The event will be held in all weather conditions. Except in cases of natural disaster or civil defense alert, if the event is cancelled due to force majeure or any other event beyond the control of the organizers, the registration fee will not be refunded nor will it be considered valid for the following year. However, the right to participate in 2026 will be valid and must be exercised by re-registering and paying. Furthermore, if the event needs to be postponed, the registration fee will not be refunded.

  • VARIATIONS

    The organization reserves the right to make changes to the route and regulations at any time. It may also be subject to changes due to government regulations resulting from the COVID-19 emergency. The website www.granfondosanbenedettodeltronto.it is the official information source for the event, so all official communications will be published there.

  • DISQUALIFICATIONS

  • 19.1 Participation with another runner's bib, transferring a bib to someone else, starting in a grid prior to the assigned one, or any other serious incident identified by the organizers will result in immediate disqualification from the event or exclusion from the rankings and a ban from the event for one to five years. In the most serious cases, the ban may be lifelong. The organizers will take the above measures. 19.2 Participants are urged to use civic duty to avoid littering along the roads, but to place it in the designated containers at the refreshment points identified by the start and end refreshment points, and in the "eco zones" along the route. Competitors who throw objects of any kind outside the designated areas will be disqualified. 19.3 Disqualifications imposed by ACSI, FCI, or other entities during the year may result in removal from the starting list at any time, at the sole discretion of the organization. 19.4 The use of bicycles equipped with any type of electrical and/or electronic support or assistance, except for bicycles with electromechanical gear changes, is strictly prohibited, under penalty of disqualification or expulsion. 19.5 Athletes disqualified during the 2025 edition will not be able to participate in the 2025 edition. 19.6 The organization reserves the right to take action if it observes unsportsmanlike behavior during the race. 19.7 Team cars are not permitted following the race. The organization declines all responsibility before, during, and after the event. 19.8 Participation attire and an approved hard helmet are mandatory. 19.9 The following behaviors will be sanctioned at the sole discretion of the race judges:
  • Improper use of a personal chip (whether given or brought);
  • Towing or drafting behind motorized vehicles, including even partially mounting them;
  • Shortening the course;
  • Missing or incorrectly positioned and/or illegible back number on the bicycle. Staff in racing gear or anonymously may be present along the course to assist the Race Judges in detecting any irregularities that may result in sanctions. The athlete(s) involved will not be eligible for the final ranking. 19.10 Private assistance provided by all private vehicles is strictly prohibited.
